Going Green

This post was inspired by the poolside umbrellas and chairs at the Copacabana Palace. I was definitely trying to channel Gray Malin with the shot.

Green is nature’s most lively hue. The color and most its shades— emerald, olive, sage, forest, cyan, sea foam— will continue to find itself in many accents of our otherwise neutral apartment. Today, the color is only obvious with the house plants in each room. Unfortunately, since I am no green thumb, I can’t continue to rely on literal plants to add this accent color. Hoping 2024 will see the addition of green accents with pillows, throw blankets, art and vases.

Breakfast tables at the Copacabana Palace were a mesmerizing sea form and cyan marble.

Will be a while before we ever pick out our own marble or quartz, but remembering this olive toned bar top at the Farmstead in Saint Helena when the time comes.

Botanical art had its rise in the 19th century, but I want to bring it to the 21st century. I want to research the history of botanical art like the above in interior design. It feels dated, but it’s nostalgic. And nostalgia wins for me.

The British colonial architecture is one thing to love about this ad in AD, but loving the oxidized copper pendant.

A fun vase to save up for or find a cheaper dupe for.

Pinned because of the dark green tile

Rattan + lush house plants

Of course the Ritz in the Grand Caymans appears to have an abundance of tropical plants

They take the color the furthest with floor to ceiling green paint. Not opposed to a green house one day.
